Job description
Summary: Packages and ships products accurately and timely to meet customer requirements and adhere to ROC Carbon Company quality processes and procedures. Helps drive Shop productivity and profitability by working closely with shop team, Shop Leadman, and Operations Manager to continually increase efficiency and make improvements in the workplace. Exudes outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers and helps drive the business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Shipping/Receiving Clerk:
- Maintains an organized, clean, and well-marked warehouse system for “Finished Parts”.
- Prepares goods for shipment in a damage-free manner, and interfaces with delivery service personnel to ship and receive goods.
- Maintain accurate and timely inventory records.
- Maintains clear, legible labels for proper identification of each inventoried item.
- Keeps accurate shipping records on when shipments were made, by what mode of transportation and at what cost.
- Ships orders within 24 hours of receipt of necessary paperwork, parts etc. as outlined by company policy.
- Notifies Inside Sales and Supervisor immediately, when it is determined that an order will not be shipped by its scheduled delivery date.
- Receives, unloads and/or unpacks, and immediately inspects for damage, all items shipped to ROC Carbon Company, unless marked personal or confidential.
- Records and reports all items received, following company procedures for anything received as incorrect, or damaged during shipment.
- Notifies appropriate employee and/or department supervisor when material has been received, and provides same with all receiving paperwork and packing slips.
- Posts inventory items shipped or received into computer system daily.
- Maintains accurate information in computer system of all inventoried items, on-hand, in-production, committed, etc.
- Verifies that material and parts on-shelf are recorded and accurately accounted for in WorkFlow system; Takes necessary action to reconcile and correct any discrepancies.
- Maintains accurate records and closes completed job orders on daily basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education/Experience:
High school graduate and/or equivalent work experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical information; Ability to respond to common inquiries and/or issues raised from internal or external customers.
Math Ability:
Displays mechanical aptitude; Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
